First and most importantly, we would like to say MERRY SHIBAMAS to all of our friends and their packs.
Today, we FINALLY got to open our Secret Shiba Shibamas pawsents. Look at all the pawsome gifties!
It all came stuffed in a cute tin box and also wrapped in super cute tissue paper. Mom made us wait patiently so that she could take a photo. She knows me best. I would of totally scurried off with a toy. We got purty collars too! Also, pumpkin and cheesy noms!!!
We found out our Secret Shiba is Rinji & Mika & their hoomans (@shiba_rinji)!! Thank you! We lub all of our pawsents very much! We got to nommin’ right away!
Big thanks to Yuki and Sakura, this year’s 2012 Secret Shiba pawsome coordinators, for putting this together and to all those that participated. <3
Today, we went on a 3 hour walk with our friend Gloria and her furkids, Amie and Tomo.
Sofi did very well on the walk. She is starting to come out of her shell a little bit. She let out a small bark today, is playing with toys, exploring the apartment more, and scratching her bed. Sumo loves her and tries his best to get her to play with him. They have even started eating their food in their own bowls which thanks to their Auntie Gloria, they absolutely love! Tomorrow, I may go running with Sofi and will definitely take more photos!
Yesterday, we met Shio for the first time! We went to the dog run for a bit. The boys didn’t play much and Sumo was Mr. Grumpo. This humom was stupid enough to whip out a tiny cookie for the boys to nom on. I know, I know… I wasn’t thinking. Big mistake. Sumo freaked out and started chomping everyone that came nearby. Shio and Sumo seemed to get along ok though. They didn’t bite each other’s face off. I think they both would enjoy time spent together at a park instead of the dog run. Sumo used to be a huge fan but lately he just sits on top of the ledge and stares at the other dogs. I wonder if it could be a Shiba thing?
Yesterday, Mom and I along with our furfriends, Amie and Tomo plus their humom, Gloria went on a long, long walk down by the Hudson River Park. We all pooped on the nice grass by the dog run and I tried to pee on everything else along the way. At one point, I growled at a black lab puppy and barked really loud in her face. Mom was really mad at me and yanked me away telling me I was bad but I tried to tell her that there was something fishy with that lab. She had this… twinkle in her eye and smelled kind of funny. I swear!
Eventually, we came to a stop and rested a bit on some rocks. A park ranger dude came driving by and stopped to ask if I was the one that tried to get into a little brawl with the lab puppy. I responded with a big bark. He came out of his vehicle and went to pet Amie and Tomo while I stood in the background staring him down. Then he proceeded to lecture me about being mean… blah… blah… blah and I barked back at him many times. The park ranger told me to sit and I thought about chomping his fingers off but then I saw Mom giving me her evil glare and creepy smile so I decided to give in and sat nicely, pretending to be the good boy that I am. Hmmpf. He finally went away and we decided to walk back home. I kept a steady pace and apparently Mom thought I was walking too slow so she does this thing where she kept pinching my butt and I tried to scurry away. Everyone laughed at me and thought it was cute but I didn’t find it very funny. Grrrr. I must remember to rub my butt on her pillow when we get home.
Overall, we had a very nice walk. I was able to get some exercise and think I might of even lost a few pounds in the process. Here’s a photo we took together:
(Photo taken by Gloria) That’s me on the left there. My cousin Tomo in the middle and my Shiba crush, Amie, on the right. Their humom, Gloria, took the photo and I think it turned out quite well! I like her. She’s great and always makes us yummy meals and gives us nummy treats. Isn’t Amie foxy looking? <3
Today, Kicho and I ventured out to meet with Shio’s Mom, Ting, at the Barnes & Noble in Union Square. It was pouring rain so Sumo stayed home since he HATES getting wet unless for some reason it’s snow. He’ll do it only for snow.
Auntie Ting surprised us with a new toy for Kicho and 2 boxes of yummy nummies!!! #shibakisses
Sumo couldn’t wait to steal this toy away from Kicho. His initial attempt was successful but Kicho quickly took it back and gave him her vicious growl.
My good friend, Gloria, invited me over for dinner and I was able to spend some time with her two Shibas.
Here is a photo of Tomo who I guess would be Sumo’s cousin. This little guy is a master of pickpocketing. Known for stealing num nums out of handbags, coat pockets, and anywhere else the nummies might be hiding.
In this photo is Sumo’s crush, Amie. I love the way she lays around with all fours stretched out.
Olivia slept over tonight. This is the first time that Sumo and Kicho has ever had another furry friend in the apartment. As usual, Sumo got super excited, started barking and acted like a crazy Shiba. Sigh. Poor Olivia was nervous at first since she’s never been to our home before and having a crazy dog barking in her face doesn’t quite help even if they do know each other.
We went with Amie, Tomo and their Mom, Gloria, to Liberty State Park today! Amie & Tomo were modeling for photos while Sumo & Kicho watched and played in the background.
The park was pretty big and the views were amazing! Not to mention, the weather was perfect!
